OWAIN GLYNDWR

Owain was one of the greatest patriots Wales has ever known.

His name has become a symbol of pride and freedom.

He sacrificed everything for a dream, of Wales as a nation, governing itself with its own institutions and universities. Where he died is not known, and the location of his grave has become one of the great mysteries of Welsh history.

It is surely fitting that the people of Wales, and Welsh communities everywhere, should mark the anniversary and the millenium by honouring his contribution to their heritage.

The main aims of the society

to honour the contribution of Owain Glyndwr to the history of Wales

to contribute to the development of the cultural heritage of Wales

to attempt to identify the grave of Owain and to mark it appropriately

to erect a fitting monument to Owain Glyndwr at an appropriate place

to endow a lasting academic memorial to him
